YIFEI HUO

Postgraduate science student majoring in Biotechnology at the University of Adelaide

Yifei Huo is a highly skilled researcher with a background in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Currently, Yifei is engaged in pioneering research on long noncoding RNAs in the Y chromosome of the platypus, which promises to shed light on lncRNA function and evolution in mammalian reproductive systems. Working under the guidance of Professor Frank Grutzner at a world-leading lab, Yifei focuses on monotreme biology, utilizing an extensive tissue collection of platypuses and echidnas to explore reproduction, development, and genome evolution. By studying monotreme biology, Yifei aims to unravel the mysteries of mammalian evolution, including insights into the evolutionary trajectory of our own reproductive system.
