I've been fortunate to take a break from my career and volunteer for my organization over the past 18 months. One key life lesson I've learned is to never stop giving - it truly is the key to happiness. As my late spiritual guru, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, once said, "In the joy of others, lies our own." By shedding our egos and honestly helping others, we find true inner happiness.

In honor of this motto, I will be participating in the In the Joy of Others Walk in Edison, NJ, one of over 85 walks happening around the country. The proceeds will support BAPS Charities, benefiting millions around the world and local beneficiaries like JFK Hospital and the Edison School systems in Middlesex County.

I don't usually ask my friends for help, but it would mean a lot if you could contribute to this great cause. Any amount, whether a few dollars or more, will go a long way in building better communities for us and our future generations!

Many times, we wait till after we retire to pursue our passions or to give back to society. While this makes sense in most cases, there are times in life where you need to jump the gun...

BAPS is currently constructing a Hindu place of worship in Robbinsville NJ. Truly, this will be a place people from around the world will come to really learn about Hinduism, India's culture and heritage. It will be where art and architecture of ancient Vedic times will be showcased and appreciated for its beauty and uniqueness. But more importantly, it will be a place that will inspire people to live a spiritually centric life, to live in harmony despite our differences and to live according to my late guru's (#PramukhSwami) motto, "In the joy of others lies our own."

Known as Akshardham, it is slated to open in September 2023. Knowing I would regret if I couldn't be a small part in making this vision of Pramukh Swami and my current guru #MahantSwami happen, I decided to take a break from my career to volunteer for my organization.

It was only possible with my wife's support but more surprisingly, inspired by my 5 year old son. A month or two before I actually left Citibank, my son often would tell me I need to do seva (selfless service) by helping to build Akshardham. I took it passingly at first, telling him how will he get all those new toys he seemingly wants all the time. But one time he told me if you dont quit your job, you will regret it and not make our guru raaji. This concept of raaji is central to Hinduism and BAPS. While it literally translates to please or make happy, it means so much more. It means living life in such a positive and spiritual way that it makes your guru proud, because his only wish is for you to attain everlasting peace and happiness. So you could imagine my 5 year old telling me that really made me stop in my tracks!

While I will look to resume my career sometime later this year, I couldnt be happier I decided to take this break.
