Yona Nebel-Jacobsen

Yona Nebel-Jacobsen is an experienced Geologist with a Dr rer nat (PhD) in Geochemistry. She has a strong background in higher education and a diverse set of skills including science, scientific writing, geology, and isotope geochemistry. With expertise in laboratory management, risk assessment, and operating mass spectrometers, Yona currently holds a key position in R&D at the Isotopia Laboratories at Monash University. Her primary focus is on developing new analytical techniques for cutting-edge research in fields such as Early Earth studies, provenance analyses, igneous petrology, and crustal evolution.

Yona's educational journey includes studying Abitur at Dahlmannschule, obtaining a Dr rer nat (PhD) in Geochemistry from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, and completing a Diploma in Geology and Palaeontology from the same institution.

In her professional career, Yona has held significant roles such as Research Fellow and Isotopia Lab manager at Monash University. She has also worked as a Research Officer at Australian National University, a Research Associate at both University of Bonn and University of Muenster, an Excavation Assistant at the Museum of Natural History in Westfalia, and a Research Assistant at the University of Muenster.
