Highlights
Earlier in 2022, I achieved my years-long aspiration of joining the Imperial-Cambridge Mathematics Competition (ICMC) as a member of the Problem Selection Committee. My journey to join the ICMC is another story and deserves its own post - but, right now, I am proud to present:
The 6th Imperial-Cambridge Mathematics Competition
The ICMC is an annual two-round competition organised by Imperial and Cambridge students for undergraduate/master's students worldwide. ICMC is intended to be analogous to the William Lowell Putnam competition in style and aims to allow participants to solve challenging problems (from topics such as calculus and analysis, algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and number theory) in a highly competitive environment. Last year over 200 students participated in the competition, and it's a great way to enjoy tackling creative and interesting problems of a different style to curricular university maths.
Overview of rounds: -Round 1 will be on Sunday, November 27th. This round is open to all undergraduate/master's students, and takes place at the contestants' respective universities. -Round 2 will be on Sunday, February 26th. Only the top Round 1 participants qualify for this round, which will take place at Imperial. -Team round: occurs directly after Round 2 at Imperial and is a separate competition. We will release further details later.
Registration for the competition is now decentralised, as we have spread from the UK into Europe and beyond. (If you are an Imperial contestant, sign up at https://lnkd.in/ectzdMfb, otherwise, you can contact your Mathematics Society or email ICMC.)
For now, I just want to say that I am so honoured to be part of the ICMC, and am immensely grateful to be able to continue my adventure into the world of Mathematics and creative problem-solving. Looking forward to the competition!

Today I accepted my offer to become the Imperial nominee for an Exchange Student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
I am excited to be pursuing my multitude of interests spanning #Physics and #Mathematics, combined with the depth and rigour of MIT's undergraduate curriculum. In particular, I'm looking forward to the prospect of conducting research in #Astrophysics at MIT.
The past two years of university have been many things: academic, incredible, hectic, but above all unpredictable. However, studying at university has been more than examinations and gaining a technical skillset, it's also a journey of personal growth ranging from teamwork to research projects, to remotely conducting lab experiments during a global pandemic. I'm truly honoured to be representing Imperial College London on an international platform.
2020 had been a difficult year, but there are many more uncertainties to come in 2021/2022. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my intellectual journey - friends, family, students, staff - this post would be completely different without your contribution.
