From August 12 to 16, I had the chance to attend the Changemaker for Education Summit in KL, and it was a truly special experience.
The summit brought together social entrepreneurs from South and Southeast Asia, all working to make education better in their countries. But what made this event stand out was that it wasn’t just about sharing ideas—it was also about taking care of ourselves.
In our busy lives, we often forget to take a break and think about our own well-being. This summit gave us that chance. It was a place to relax, reflect, and figure out what’s really important, both in our work and in our personal lives.
While learning from others, I must say—the problem often remains at the very basic level in most parts of the Global South. We need to address these foundational issues to create lasting change.
Through workshops, well-being sessions, and activities like the Change Making River and Wheel of Life, I learned a lot about where I need to focus my energy in the coming days. The Santorini-like resort was wonderful, and even more wonderful was experiencing five days of delicious vegetarian meals!
I’m especially thankful to the wonderful facilitators Nadya Saib, Angela Sujadi, and Gerson, and our great host Pin Qi. Their guidance made this experience even more meaningful.
