Zach Stein is the Co-Founder and CEO of Carbon Collective, a sustainable investing platform that provides low-fee, diversified portfolios focused on solving climate change.1 He founded the company in July 2020 with his longtime friend James Regulinski.2

Prior to Carbon Collective, Zach's career path included:

  • CEO and Co-Founder of Osmo Systems, an agro-tech startup developing monitoring systems for hydroponic and aquaculture farmers (2013-2020)23
  • Founder and Retail Director of Urban Worm, a worm farm in the Bay Area (2012-2013)2
  • Fellow at Urban Adamah, an urban farm (2011)2

Zach's background demonstrates a consistent interest in sustainability, agriculture, and technology. He holds a BA in psychology from Hamilton College.1

Carbon Collective aims to address a gap in climate investing by providing average Americans with options to invest their retirement accounts and savings in climate solutions.1 The company focuses on divesting from fossil fuel-dependent sectors, reinvesting in companies building climate solutions, and pressuring the remaining parts of the stock market to decarbonize.13

Zach is passionate about using finance as a tool to combat climate change, viewing sustainable investing as a crucial component in addressing this global challenge.34
