The Aspiring CIO and CISO by David Gee GAICD provides great detail into developing the skills, knowledge, and experience in landing and excelling in each of those roles or in both simultaneously.
The CIO and CISO interview questions will help sharpen your interview technique and prepare you for any number of questions. I really enjoyed the risk metrics section and you can pair that with the end of the book on transitioning your career to risk management. Risk is interwoven in the fabric of being a CIO and CISO so transitioning to this career path can make sense for some.
This is one of the few times I've seen "branding" mentioned in a book dealing with security and IT. This is an important aspect for an executive. You must be able to identify what people think about you and how you want to be viewed.
Thanks to Packt and Marylou De Mello for the opportunity to review. I highly recommend any aspiring CIOs or CISOs to pick up your copy.
