Highlights
We just wrapped the 🌞 Solar Craft Hub 🌞 design residency in Inhambane initiated by Studio Palha, Pauline van Dongen and Bureau Ruimtekoers in close collaboration with the artisanal community of Linga Linga, fusing Solar Technology and Palha, the sacred leaf used for weaving. Very excited to divulge more on this beautiful residency at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Maputo, to discuss with various stakeholders around the table on the future of Solar Craft. This project was made possible by the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie.
In gratitude to have received the grant for the open call Resilient Communities/Just Cities by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie for Studio Palha in collaboration with Pauline van Dongen and Bureau Ruimtekoers. The project 'The Solar Craft Hub' aims to strengthen the position of craftswomen from the Tsonga community on the Linga Linga peninsula in Mozambique. We will be collaborating with the women and other local stakeholders to develop products that bring together the Indigenous craft of palm-leaf weaving and solar technology. This will be a continuation of our 2021 project Solar Palha: https://lnkd.in/eVEmxxDr
