I am writing to recommend UT-GLOBUS, a cutting-edge dataset developed by the University of Texas. It provides global building height and urban canopy parameters for over 1,200 cities. UT-GLOBUS integrates spatial optical altimetry, coarse-resolution elevation data, and machine learning techniques to offer highly accurate building height estimates, with a validated root mean square error of 7.8 to 9.1 meters. This dataset significantly enhances urban climate simulations for models such as WRF-Urban and SOLWEIG, improving temperature and thermal comfort predictions.
