Highlights
World’s best is not defined by you but by the world. And the moment that the world tells you that you are among the best, is definitely a moment worth cherishing.
This week was one of those moments for us at Funzi as we are on TIME Magazine’s and Statista's list of World’s Top EdTech Companies 2024. A link to the list and Funzi’s post are in the comments.
But what I’m happiest about is not us being on that list, but the fact that TIME and Statista decided to make that list. In that process they researched and analyzed over 7 000 companies globally across two dimensions: financial strength and industry impact. The effort proves that they are serious about this. Now, why does that matter?
Because today’s world is uncertain and full of crises that cast a dark shadow on many positive development efforts. The world is full of #doom and gloom. Catastrophes, conflicts, and economic and physical wars have resulted in politics making an inward turn. And the economy has followed that same trend. Companies, projects, and services that aim to create a better world do not get the support, nor the funding they need. And far too few people talk about this.
That is why this list is so significant. Because it is only education, education, and education that will get us out of these dire straits. And #EdTech is the tool to make #education more efficient and better. It is the magic potion that can upgrade the skills of teachers globally, the sparkle that ignites the bonfires of curiosity in the youth of our world and shapes the future of the whole world.
There isn’t an industry more important for the future of our planet than the EdTech industry. That’s why this list is so important as it shines the spotlight on the industry leading companies. Please support them, because if they don’t succeed, our future becomes gloomier. And nobody wants that. Enjoy the weekend & LiG!
Yesterday we welcomed a healthy son to our family. This one is a very healthy scale-up ❤️
