Data breaches are now a regular occurrence, with even giants like Snowflake and the Federal Reserve being victimized. In today’s interconnected world, the importance of tight security measures is crucial. Each vendor relationship expands the attack surface, leaving businesses with one degree of separation from a vendor that's experienced a breach in the last two years. It's impossible to be perfectly secure, but it's essential to work with vendors that follow stringent security protocols.
ISO 27001 certification is the gold standard in information security and requires a culture of security within the certified organization. It ensures comprehensive involvement from all employees in maintaining and improving security practices, which is essential for effective risk management.
In my latest blog post, I explore why ISO 27001 is an essential consideration when evaluating technology vendors.

Recent research from S&P Global indicates a concerning trend: the number of women in senior roles has significantly declined to levels last seen before 2013, a stark contrast to the gains made up until 2021. Experts now predict achieving true gender parity might take another decade -- maybe two.
What's causing this regression? It's been four years since a pandemic shut down the world as we know it and businesses continue to adapt and enable remote/hybrid work using innovative solutions like Splashtop. So, why have women been left behind? Could it be cultural? Societal? Rob Longley shared an interesting POV in this morning's #GoingRemoteFirst newsletter, suggesting the interconnected influence of covid, public policy, and now RTO policies on gender equity.
Coming from Splashtop where we benefit from the leadership of many incredible women, I find this recent loss in gains even more striking. Regardless of the driving forces, I'm feeling grateful today to work at a company that values the voices of women in leadership while also embracing a flexible culture that empowers all of us to be our best selves, at work and home.
