Alan Schaaf is a well-known entrepreneur and the founder of Imgur, a popular community-powered entertainment platform that he launched in 2009 as an undergraduate at Ohio University.

Under Schaaf's leadership, Imgur scaled to millions of users, becoming one of the top 50 Internet properties globally. The company was bootstrapped and profitable for five years before receiving a $40 million investment from Andreessen Horowitz in 2014.

With over a decade of experience as a professional coder, Schaaf is known for his focus on creating exceptional user experiences and nurturing positive online communities.

He has spoken at various prestigious events including TechCrunch Disrupt, PTTOW, A16z Summit, Collision, Web Summit, TEDxWellington, and AWS re, advocating for a free and open Internet.

Schaaf holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ohio University and has previously served as an advisor at Continue and audiodrop. He also took a career break for full-time parenting.
