Highlights
I'm very happy to share that Michelle Grisé and my work on Russia-Iran cooperation was recognized with a RAND silver medal award this week. Technically, these annual awards recognize individuals throughout the institution who "have made exceptional and inspiring contributions to RAND's mission and priorities." In practice, it's a chance for us to celebrate our weird, wonderful community of nerds and -- at the height of writing season -- pause and learn what others have been working on. As I near my 5-year anniversary, it was an honor and delight to be nominated.

There's lot of chatter about the dangers of a space crisis, but what really are the risks? What would stability entail? In this newly published RAND report for the USSF, we turned the lens on the U.S. space community to identify the theories and assumptions shaping U.S. space policy -- and to evaluate whether there's evidence behind them.
This is the first in a series of RAND work on crisis stability in space, so keep an eye out for more on the subject. It was great fun to work with Andrew Radin, Krista Langeland, Bruce McClintock, Howard Wang, and Katie Feistel.
