Helping businesses achieve peace of mind in a disaster through the Ready for Anything Framework | Two Lynchpin Road
I’m a practicing emergency manager with nearly 20 years of experience. I know small and medium-sized businesses are the cornerstone of a community and I’ve seen first-hand, in disasters like the 2017 Sonoma County Firestorm and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, that businesses can be easily overwhelmed during a disaster.
As a third-generation business owner (my grandparents and my parents owned and operated a retail pharmacy for over 60 years), I’m on a mission to strengthen the essential business backbone of communities. That’s why I founded Two Lynchpin Road and created the Ready For Anything Framework. Building custom disaster plans for those who need them most, is my passion.
My background in risk and crisis communications, on-the-ground disaster response including Hurricane Sandy, CA Wildfires, the Napa Earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic, business continuity, and disaster preparedness is foundational to my approach in crafting an actionable plan centered in practical foresight for your organization.
I’ve honed my expertise in major U.S. cities and a few small towns along the way. I believe in the power of public-private partnerships and developed my love of disaster foresight with NATO’s Foresight Initiative.
Highlights
Risk within the Ring of Fire is further complicated by the specter of tsunamis – gargantuan sea waves triggered by undersea earthquakes.
This dual hazard scenario demands a comprehensive approach to preparedness encompassing both the immediate tremors and the potential following aquatic onslaught.
With their deep-rooted connections and authoritative voice, local governments and supporting community organizations are at the forefront of crafting and implementing integrated disaster preparedness strategies.
Many cities along the West Coast of the United States engage in baseline evacuation messaging and signage, discussing with residents, businesses, and community-based organizations what alerts mean, how a tsunami behaves, and where to go during an evacuation.
Communities like Bainbridge Island, Washington, actively practice, coordinate, and support each other in other mechanisms to ensure self-sufficiency.
By addressing the dual threat head-on, these organizations safeguard lives and instill a sense of preparedness and strength within the community. Through proactive measures, education, and collaboration, they are building resilience against the unpredictable forces of nature lurking within the Ring of Fire.
