Highlights
One of my favorite parts about working for FreeWill is hearing about the tremendous work our partners are doing to propel us through these uncertain times:
Team Rubicon is helping rebuild parts of Australia after the bush fires. American Red Cross is providing hospitals with support during the coronavirus. Southern Poverty Law Center is fighting against voter suppression during the primary elections.
The list goes on and on and on, and we will go on and on and on to make sure that they can continue to do this incredible work. Freewill has now raised $1.1 B for organizations providing life-changing impact, and that number is growing every day. Here's to our 300+ partners, and here's to creating the change you wish to see in the world!
Happy #GivingTuesday! As a lifelong athlete and former field hockey player at Vassar College, I have felt and seen the marginalization of female sports on a visceral level. While there is little in the news to make one smile these days, this NYT article managed to do it. Cathy Bessant of Bank of America is quoted:
"Placing a woman’s name on a sports facility signals a broader gender balance occurring in naming campus buildings around the country. That balance suggests to young people that there is a path for women in athletics, for women in philanthropy, for women in business accomplishment."
Let's do it, ladies. #giveback #womenleadership #philanthropy
