Amanda Huron

Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at the University of the District of Columbia

Amanda Huron is a highly qualified academic with an extensive background in urban studies and geography.

She holds a BA in Urban Studies/Geography from Macalester College, a PhD in Geography from City University of New York Graduate Center, and an MCRP in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at the University of the District of Columbia.

Previously, Amanda Huron has held positions like Assistant Professor in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at the same university, Instructor in Geography and American Studies at George Washington University, and Director of the Washington Innercity Self Help (WISH) Archives Project at Empower D.C.

Her career also includes roles such as Lecturer in Urban Affairs at Hunter College, City University of New York, GIS Analyst and Educator at the Mannahatta Project under the Wildlife Conservation Society, Manager of Urban Design Programs at the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment, and Director of Advocacy at the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED).
