Andres Casares is a professional photojournalist with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.

His career includes working as a Photographer and Photo Editor for various newspapers, magazines, and wires.

From 2015, he was based in Haiti for Reuters, covering assignments across the Caribbean, Latin America, and Middle East.

Andres received a scholarship in 2006 to study Photojournalism at Danmarks Journalisthojskole in Aarhus, Denmark.

He has an extensive portfolio of work as a freelancer and contractor, covering conflict, natural disasters, and social issues in countries like Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Ukraine, Cuba, and Iraq for reputable media outlets including Reuters, EFE, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Der Spiegel, as well as NGO's.

Throughout his career, Andres has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the 'Photo of the Year', 'First Prize in News' at the National Photojournalism Award 2014 in Spain, and the 3rd Prize in News Essays at POYi Latino América 2011.

In addition to his professional achievements, Andres finds peace and relaxation in freeride skiing, cycling, rock climbing, and kite surfing.
