Mechanical Engineer - Renewable Energy & Aerospace

Andrew McFadden is a Mechanical Engineer currently pursuing his MSc. at the University of Calgary, specializing in High Speed Aerodynamics and Energy research within the AERO-CORE group.

He has previous experience working on the design, installation, and testing of the world's first commercial Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage (ACAES) facility.

Andrew's professional background spans the energy and renewables sector and includes academic research in aerospace engineering, demonstrating a diverse skill set and interest in expanding his technical expertise.

His educational journey includes a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University, where he was a Dean's Scholar in 2016, along with ongoing pursuit of an MSc. in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Calgary.

Andrew has been involved with various organizations such as Hydrostor, where he held roles including Mechanical Engineering Associate, Testing and Validation, Commissioning & Field Engineering Specialist, and Junior Engineering Associate.

He has also worked as a Student Consultant at Northland Power Inc., Cofounder and Technology Lead at Apollo Inc, and held positions at Spectrum Resource Group Inc. and Arbraska.

Andrew McFadden's passion for tackling complex challenges is fueled by his belief in first-principle thinking, guiding his approach to addressing significant issues facing humanity.
