Highlights
As with many recently, I am ready for my next creative endeavor.
I bring to the table years of #Podcast industry experience. Having been a part of the largest simulcast podcast network, I know a fair share about the benefits of video podcasts, both how to engage audiences as well understanding the ad market for simulcast networks.
Additionally I love working with top tier talent from social influencers, to mainline celebrity talent, it's amazing to see the creative energy these individuals bring to their businesses.
Looking for a new role in Podcasting, Creative Direction, Marketing.
Would love any introductions or job listings.
LA based, open to remote work.
When Barrett Garese talks (or writes), I listen.
He’s an incredibly observant, succinct thinker who is able to break down complex ideas into manageable thoughts.
He’s very on point with his understanding of the pros and cons of esports here.
As someone who works in the general entertainment field (and truly esports is just entertainment), Barrett nails it on the head on what we as an audience resonate with from a subconscious or conscious desire from said entertainment.
The goal of entertainment (mostly) is to develop a large audience that commits to your particular flavor of “turn off your brain”…in order to sell ads against that large audience.
As with marketing/growth strategy, it’s always how do we keep increasing the size of our audience (and retain our current audience) so we can sell more against the larger numbers.
Esports has a future, or a lot of people have sunk a lot of $$$ into one basket of eggs. But yes there are some fundamental changes that need to occur when it comes to how it is marketed and how it is conceived from in the inside out of the broadcasters/game companies.
I for one will continue to follow the esports industry but I would also be very happy to help shape this form of entertainment on a professional level too.
