Anna Hildibrandsdottir
Programme Director at Nordic Music Export
Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdóttir is a film and TV producer and the former Programme Director of Nordic Music Export (NOMEX) from 2012.1 She is the co-founder of Tattarrattat, an independent film and television production company based in Reykjavik and London, specializing in hybrid and cultural documentaries.1
During her time as Programme Director at NOMEX, Anna Hildur established innovative projects such as the Nordic playlist, the Ja Ja Ja club night and festival, and produced over 130 pieces of digital content and live broadcasts of performances by Nordic bands. She also led Nordic trade missions to Japan and the US.1
Prior to her role at NOMEX, Anna Hildur was Iceland Music Export’s (IMX) first MD from 2007 to 2012.1 She developed US-focused concepts such as the Made in Iceland compilation aimed at college radio and music supervisors, and worked with all major festivals in Iceland to promote Icelandic music.1 Anna Hildur restructured the setup of Iceland Airwaves when IMX took over the festival's management in 2010, a festival she had worked for as a PR and brand manager from 2003 to 2007.1
As the MD of IMX, she led a research project on behalf of creative industries called Towards Creative Iceland, a report about the economic effect of creative industries in Iceland published in 2011.1 Anna Hildur began her career in media in 1992 as a London-based radio and TV correspondent for Icelandic broadcasting and worked as a researcher and assistant producer for documentaries for NHK and BBC.1 In 1998, she launched her own artist management and consultancy company, Hill Media, and worked with bands such as Bellatrix, Botnledja aka Silt and Bird.1 She established the UK branch of the Sugarcube-owned label Smekkleysa and digitized their catalog of over 200 releases in 2003.1
