Walking the talk once again at Beiersdorf : Diversity and Inclusion in action.
This week our global #PeopleSummit took place. And this time I brought a special visitor along - who is not amongst those usually attending. My 3.5 months old son.
I was curious to see how it would work to attend two full days of conference and it actually worked out super well: While I (of course 🙂) missed some sessions it provided a great opportunity to stay on top of Beiersdorf and HR matters while connecting with colleagues, both old and new.
So thank you to Nicola Lafrentz, Marie Boden, Alex Kershaw and Markus Pieper who collectively invited me to attend. And thanks to all my colleagues who welcomed me with open arms - and who attested that I have the cutest baby ever. 😊
I won’t be back until late September, but I already have a feeling that returning will be a bit easier than it would have without this opportunity.
My advice to all - consider inviting colleagues on maternity leave to such events. While it may not suit everyone, I am proof that it can be managed. And if the sessions seem overwhelming, why not extend a social invite instead?
(Also my hands were too full to actually take any pictures, so I had to steal the one for this post from Carola Schwenn 😅)
