Highlights
Proud to work for a company which is turning 80 years next year. At this anniversary Sales Meeting for AW24, old Reima garments was collected from all over the country and gathered so we could see how the Reima fashion was in the 1960s, 1970s and up the decades. Truly inspiring how the company has been developing for all these years. And as Elina said, we are just borrowing the company for a while, let's see where it is in the next 80 years to come!
Do I have a successful integration story in Finland? – yes, I would say so! I can now proudly announce my new job title as Merchandising Manager at Reima.
Starting from the bottom, I have over the years, worked my way op at a respected well-known Finnish company, and to a level where I feel like I am heard and respected and where I don’t feel like a foreigner.
I came to Finland with my University Degree from Denmark, and fast learned that my career path was not going to be easy. I needed to start in a Customer Service assistant position, even mainly for the Norwegian market (because you know – the languages are so similar), just to get a foot in the door. And I have needed to swallow some camels, and not burn bridges and taken a humble approach with the company – but now it is paying off.
During my career path, I have also become a mom to a Reimakid, and what a pleasure it has been to put the products, which I have been selling for many years, to a test in our own home and let my kid be a kid no matter how wet, muddy or cold it is.
I still don’t speak Finnish, and now my focus is, that my daughter will learn the best Danish possible, so my Finnish lessons are on hold. And the story at Reima – it will continue :)
