Anton Ermakov

Anton Ermakov is a planetary scientist and assistant professor at Stanford University, specializing in planetary science and exploration. He holds dual roles as an assistant professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics in the School of Engineering and an assistant professor (by courtesy) of Geophysics and Earth and Planetary Sciences in the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. His research focuses on using geophysical techniques to study the internal structure and evolution of planetary bodies, combining spacecraft data with modeling to investigate the Solar System's formation and development.123

Ermakov has been deeply involved in NASA missions, including the Juno mission, which studies Jupiter and its moons, and the Dawn mission, which explored asteroid Vesta and dwarf planet Ceres. His work has contributed to understanding planetary interiors, satellite systems, and habitability potential.123 He earned an Engineer Degree in Space Geodesy from Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences from MIT in 2017. Before joining Stanford, he held research positions at UC Berkeley's Space Sciences Laboratory and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.24
