agent = multi modal UX + llm + memory + planning + tools + while loop
I find the flexibility of the input/output UX of agentic systems is profound and powerful. This was perhaps encapsulated in llm (or tools) but deserving of more recognition in a definition
Yesterday marked the final in person event of the inaugural Persian Founders Circle cohort - an initiative at Pear VC that embodies Pejman Nozad's vision of over two decades.
As someone who grew up outside of Iran and spent my entire career far from Silicon Valley, the chance to connect with a community of peers who share a similar heritage and to learn directly from trailblazers in our field was deeply meaningful.
During the weekly events throughout the program, we had the privilege of hearing from notable figures including Pejman Nozad, Lily Sarafan, Keyvan Mohajer, AmirAli Talasaz, Touraj Parang, Sep K., Shahin Farshchi, Yasi Baiani and Arash Afrakhteh. So many people have worked super hard and paved the way for us - they are sharing the blueprint and happy to help! How cool is that?
In addition to bringing in all of these outstanding Persian founders and investors, Pear VC also organized sessions covering critical topics for building venture scale companies such as legal (w/ Todd Rumberger and Shaina Hourizadeh from WilmerHale), banking (w/ Mark diTargiani from Banc of California), hiring (w/ Matt Birnbaum and Nathan Hirsch Pear VC), gtm (Pepe Agell) and communications (w/ Kristin Tedford from Bold Echo Communication Solutions) and identifying ideas worth pursuing (w/ Mar Hershenson from Pear VC).
The whole program was masterfully orchestrated by Roya Soleimani Winner who brought something really special to life with her unique touch. Of course I should note that the whole Pear VC team was very active and supportive with special mentions going to Athena Shiravi Nika Farokhzad and Arash Afrakhteh.
The Fall 2024 cohort applications are now open and I encourage my fellow Persian founders to apply. The program is a hybrid model with about half the participants zooming in. Also, founders in our batch spanned the entire spectrum from pre-idea to seed stage and beyond so there's no such thing as too early but it's helpful to be close to starting to get the full value.
Feel free to share, repost or tag with potential nominees for the next batch. No brainer to apply imo :)
