How does music shape the fabric of society and our mental health? What is the role of music when we are trying to create systemic change in today's digital world?

Looking forward to discussing this incredibly important topic on Thursday, at Dr. Becky Inkster's 'Digital Innovation in Mental Health' conference. (https://lnkd.in/epgasNj6)

Music is a part of the fabric of humanity; we have always used songs for community building, celebration, leading social movements and so much more.

Wisdom and stories are carried on through song, and musicians are at the helm of every subculture. "Artists are the world's natural healers" - I have said this for years now. Music is such an integral part of human culture, so the way it transitions and scales through technology should strive to retain the artist's integrity.

In this conversation, I and other experts will discuss how music can be viewed through a systemic lens, meaning how it affects us on a societal level; our culture, health, visions for the future and even politics.

In this discussion, we will zoom out a little from the specific ways music heals us on a physiological and neurological level, to which there are many, and discuss the ways music shapes the fabric of our society. We aim for you to leave feeling hopeful, inspired and full of ideas.

Join the panel conversation on this topic: Thursday, 18 July / 2:05 - 2:55 pm UK Time

On Sunday night 2000 lb bombs were dropped on people in tents in a refugee camp, a ‘safe zone’ in Rafah.

At least 45 people are dead, burned alive, children decapitated. This couldn’t even be imagined in the worst horror film, but it’s real.

The worlds top legal body, the ICJ, said that Israel is committing war crimes and that their actions go against the genocide convention

Any country or person that supports Israel right now is also supporting genocide

There is nothing more important right now than stopping this nightmare. What people in Gaza are living through is pure hell on earth, and they’re trapped!!! After nearly 8 months of daily death, they have lost hope. We cannot give up on them.

If this were happening to any country of white people, the entire world would stop.

If you have a conscience and especially if you have a belief system linked to ANY of the religions, you’ll know that as humans we are morally obliged to stand up for justice and stop evil when we witness it.

So please:

• Do everything possible to pressure your government and institutions to divest from Israel • Boycott the brands that are fuelling Israel’s economy. See them via the BDS list here: https://bdsmovement.net • Speak up, use your platforms and voice to share the truth. The quicker more people speak up the quicker we can stop this nightmare.
