Highlights
I was in the talent industry for many years. Attracting talent was my focus while working alongside amazing Recruiters and Sourcers hiring for a large corporation.
Knowing that many former colleagues are looking for work, I thought I would share some tips to get NOTICE. We all know those auto rejects you get right after applying to a job can be rough and it can seem impossible to get noticed. Job descriptions seem impossible to meet and all companies are looking for unicorns. Oh, and, we have all heard that saying…”it’s not WHAT you know, it’s WHO you know”. What do you do?
Connect, connect, connect! Put yourself out there! It’s as easy as messaging someone that works at the company you are applying to through LinkedIn. They may not be the right person to get your resume in front of the hiring manager but they may know the right person.
LinkedIn has done an amazing job at connecting people. You can see what connections you have the minute you look up another company. Use this tool! It’s free!
And remember, job descriptions are completely inflated. Don’t talk yourself out of applying if you don’t meet every single requirement or “must have”.
Hard work pays off! My daughter has been accepted into her top pick school, Loyola Marymount! 💯 #lmu
