Highlights
Summer conference season is here! I'll be speaking at the Academy of Legal Studies in Business Centennial conference in Washington, DC about AI in financial services. The article I'm presenting is one I co-wrote with Sophia Duffy, JD, CPA and Steve Parrish, JD, RICP®, CLU®, ChFC®, AEP® about how AI-enabled technologies in financial services could steer consumers, sometimes unintentionally, and some ideas on what to do about it.
If you're a lawyer teaching/researching at a business school, you should check out the Academy of Legal Studies in Business! I'm thankful to have found in them a welcoming and engaged community of scholars passionate about the role of education (and law) to continually improve business outcomes.
The The American College Center for Ethics in Financial Services content is now widely available on the Knowledge Hub Plus platform (link below)! Last week, the College opened access to the platform for anyone in the industry who wants quality content about financial services topics, including ethics in the industry.
One of the offerings is a program on Ethics and AI, which includes a discussion with my colleagues Chet R. Bennetts, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, RICP®,CLF® and Eric Ludwig, PhD, CFP®. We had fun discussing where generative AI tools like ChatGPT can be helpful, and where they should not be used or used with caution because of the ethical issues it raises.
Thank you to our great communications team for continuously innovating and thinking of ways to better serve our students and learners!
