Barrie Lynne Freeman is a seasoned professional with a rich background in international relations and diplomacy.

Having studied at Tulane University for her Bachelor's degree and later at Georgetown University, Freeman has a strong educational foundation.

Freeman has held various key positions within the United Nations, including Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General at UNMIK, Political Director, and Deputy Head at the UN Peacebuilding Support Office, Chief of Staff at MINUSCA, and Director of Political Affairs at MINUSCA.

Prior to her roles at the UN, Freeman was actively involved with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), serving as Director for North Africa, Deputy Regional Director for Central and West Africa, and Senior Advisor.

In addition to her work at the UN and NDI, Freeman has also contributed to the US government, with experience as Chief Political Officer at the US Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria, Foreign Affairs Analyst, and Management Analyst at the Department of State, Consular Officer at the US Embassy in Maseru, Lesotho, Political Officer at the US Embassy in Rabat, Morocco, and Economic Officer at the US Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia.

Her diverse experiences across international organizations, diplomatic missions, and political affairs demonstrate her expertise in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and strategic decision-making.
