🧐 An under-appreciated aspect of recruiting is being able to keep positive relationships with candidates when 90-95% of the candidates are not selected for the job.
Dealing with candidates who are being rejected for a position tests a recruiters ability to build trust (i.e., ensuring you have a positive interaction, even in rejection situations) and also creates an opportunity for longer term relationships. Many of the 90-95% of rejected candidates are solid people to know for your career.
If you are rejecting candidates before the end of the week, do your best to keep a good relationship with candidates.
😇 PS - if any candidate is reading this and me or my team have not given you feedback, my bad and we are working hard to get a status update for you.
