During his tenure, Wilson focused on environmental litigation, representing major corporations, developers, cities, and local government agencies in various environmental law matters, including Clean Water Act enforcement, wetlands development, and Superfund issues. He also played a significant role in environmental justice matters.

Beyond the legal realm, Wilson actively contributed to the industry by serving as the Chair of the Environmental Law Institute and being involved in several prestigious organizations like the Board of Directors of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College, and the Board of Governors of the District of Columbia Bar Association.
