Highlights
I hadn't realized that enterprise IT teams spend 85% of their time on data integrations. Companies today have 100s, even 1,000s of data systems that all require custom code and ongoing maintenance.
Canopy launched today to solve this problem: it's a composability platform that removes the complexity, custom code and time it takes to integrate, activate and observe all the critical data companies need to operate. Canopy enables software developers to connect any data source they want, transform and activate it in minutes, not years.
Congrats Ryan Bartley Morgan Dollard Mari Ström Nessa Garcia and the entire Canopy team.
Life / work update: After 8+ great years at Mission North helping oversee and grow one of the best enterprise technology communications practices in the business, it's time to move on and head out on my own.
Over the years, I helped dozens of world-class b2b startups like Segment, Qualified and Amplitude develop their narrative and build their brand, and I’m now consulting with a handful of tech companies who want strategic support with corporate positioning, narrative development and executive thought leadership.
I want to thank Bill Bourdon, Tyler Perry (she/her) and Shannon Hutto, for their long-standing trust, partnership and guidance.
What's next? My family and I moved to Portland, OR, this summer, and I've started consulting with early to mid stage startups. My experience is in AI, logistics, e-commerce, robotics, transportation, data infrastructure, and customer experience. So if that’s you, and you need any communications help, let’s talk!
Past work I’m particularly proud of:
-
Creating corporate narratives and positioning for dozens of companies on their way to multi-billion dollar valuations and category leadership, including, Qualified, VulcanForms, ActiveFence, Alloy, Skyryse and Segment.
-
Developing and executing category-defining content programs for Narvar, Stord, fabric and LinkedIn Marketing and Sales Solutions.
-
Designing integrated communications strategies to elevate and protect brand reputations – including countless funding announcements – for Forbes Cloud 100 companies, including Gusto, Shippo, Outreach, BigID, and Amplitude.
-
And, of course, leading and partnering with an amazing, driven and creative set of communicators to build a truly incredibly enterprise technology practice.
I’m excited for this new chapter. More thoughts to come.
