My AI rant of the day - Humane AI pin. IMO, the consumer applications of it follow no reasonable logic, doesn't make any sense whatsoever. You phone, a portable and powerful computer in your hands, is enough to serve most image, text and voice analysis and translation needs. Where I feel like Humane will shine is in it's enterprise applications, where certain use cases need a portable device to streamline, decipher and decide on data collected - for example:
- Humane pin in law enforcement to drive ethical officer behavior
- Industrial application such as maintenance personnel using it to detect anomalies in manufacturing or assembly lines
- Healthcare where AI pin can read/translate vital data and record patient conversations into EHR/EMR system and so on ...
I believe that Humane's long-term success lies in opening up it's API/developer experience and allow startups / enterprises to build such applications on top of it's capabilities. The business model can be adjusted to be device sales + API subscription driven. So much to do in this space and possibilities are endless.
But first, fix that dang overheating problem!!!!
