Today I had one of the best conversations I think I’ve ever had in #newbusiness - literally had us both in hysterics and just loved every minute of it…
And given I meet new people nearly every day - for me that’s quite a statement!
The Process.
Cold outreach. Sent a beautiful message that resonated. Booked Appointment. Had a seriously open and human discussion. Spent more time being human and solved a few challenges along the way. Shared everything of value that was relevant to the call. No pitch. No deck. Meeting up in October to discuss ways of working…
The live feedback on the call today?
‘’You had me at barber….’’
‘’We’ve spoken to nine agencies and you are the one we want we can most see ourselves working with.’’
If you want the full story and want to know how to reconnect with your target audience it takes more than good copy, good messaging, and a pitch deck or lack thereof…
There is a secret sauce… you won’t find it online or in a book… but it is in my head and I’m willing to share it, all you gotta do is reach out 😊

If there’s one post I’d love you to share of mine this year that’s going to make an actual difference to the lives of beautiful creatures it’s this one.
This year we are going to get behind some transformational conservation work involving Lynx, Wolves, Wildcats and Pet Bird Trade.
Every year hundreds of thousands of pet birds such as parrots, cockatiels, budgies and canaries are trafficked, bred and traded in the UK, only to end up caged in solitary confinement. Caging pet birds is cruel and unfair - an animal that was born to fly should not be imprisoned indoors. This is why we’re leading and backing a campaign to stop this.
We have all experienced the feeling of captivity due to the Covid 19 lockdowns, but at least we know why we were contained, we could still go out and we knew that it would end.
For some of the larger parrots captivity can mean over 60 years of imprisonment in solitary confinement, yet they have no concept of why they are caged and they will never get released.
Minimum standards for caged birds are woefully inadequate meaning caged birds often develop behavioural problems due to stress and frustration. This causes many birds to self-mutilate by plucking out their own feathers.
I have teamed up with top Wildlife Biologists whom have dedicated their life to animal welfare and conservation, and it seems wrong having learnt what I’ve learnt over the past few months to stand by and watch birds needlessly suffer in this way. Many parrots are caged for their beauty, then suffer greatly due to their confinement.
Please sign the petition to help end this outdated and unnecessary practice once and for all and help to immediately ban the keeping of pet birds to bring an end to their exploitation and suffering.
