Distinguished Engineer in Additive Manufacturing

Brent Stucker, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Engineer in Additive Manufacturing at Ansys. He co-founded and led 3DSIM, which was acquired by ANSYS. Brent played a crucial role in establishing the ASTM Int'l Committee F42 on Additive Manufacturing Technologies and served as its first Chair. He has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to additive manufacturing. With over 25 years of experience in AM, Brent has worked on diverse projects ranging from biomedical implants to multi-scale modeling of AM machines. Apart from his academic appointments at various universities, Brent has been a testifying expert in significant patent litigation cases within the AM industry. He co-authored a widely used textbook on additive manufacturing and holds numerous patents. Brent's expertise is recognized globally through his publications, technical talks, participation in AM conferences, and editorial board memberships. He has collaborated with major organizations like NSF, DARPA, and NIST to shape research priorities in the AM industry. Brent completed his B.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho and Texas A&M University, respectively.
