Brian Szymanski is a Registered Architect and Certified Planner with a focus on retail anchored mixed-use developments, urban design, and mixed-use architecture. His expertise lies in early conceptual and schematic design, as well as navigating the rezoning and public approval process in collaboration with clients, planning staff, and community stakeholders. Brian holds a Masters Degree in both Architecture and Community Planning, specializing in Urban Design. He is a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design and Construction specialization. His research interests revolve around the notion of sense of place and community engagement in the design process.
Brian pursued his education at the University of Cincinnati, where he studied Masters in Community Planning with a specialization in Urban Design, as well as Masters in Architecture. He also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland.
Currently, Brian Szymanski serves as an Associate at MV+A Architects. Prior to this role, he gained experience as a Co-op Architect at HKS and Leers Weinzapfel Associates, an Intern Architect at Bonstra Haresign Architects and RC Searles Associates Inc., and worked in the Excavation and Concrete Division at GM Bergeron Custom Builders.
