We've been in our space at Hudson River Landing in Dobbs Ferry for over two years but we never had a kick-off event to meet the community and celebrate our new space (you know, COVID). That changed on Thursday when we opened our doors for our first ever open studio!

I'll admit to feeling some trepidation because I've never thrown a party at this scale but our unstoppable force of a producer, Tara Romeo knew it could be done and made it happen. Our multi-talented designers (Kurt Austin, Elin Miller, Anthony Duque, Delaney Schwartz) made truly unique branding and swag for the occasion. Our account director, Mallory Beck offered marketing advice and support throughout. Our intern Josie Simon had to go back to University of Connecticut so couldn't be there but she was with us in spirt. When I say it was a special occasion, I mean it with my whole heart. We all got to be together and celebrate a gorgeous late September evening before the torrential floods that took place the following day.

Recently, LetterShop joined the Rivertowns Chamber of Commerce and they helped us get the word out about the event. Mayor Vincent Rossillo kicked off the event by expressing his support for small businesses in Dobbs Ferry. New York State Assembly Member MaryJane Shimsky gave us an official proclamation. Joy Haber from the Westchester County Board of Legislators honored us with a special proclamation! Here and forever more, September 30, 2023 is LetterShop Day🎉!

A big thank you to The Business Council of Westchester who also got the word out to their members. (BTW, if you own a business in Westchester, I highly recommend you join this organization.)

We wanted to throw a party RIGHT so we called in the local small businesses that we interact with on a regular basis. We had scrumptious catering from La Hacienda in Yonkers, gorgeous flower arrangements from Muriel Fleurs in Hastings, hand-curated books from Picture Book in Dobbs Ferry, custom-designed mocktails, beer and wine from Clink with Colleen and handmade LS cookies made by our friend Laura Simon from 350° Catering in Hastings. The most gorgeous co-working space in all of New York, HudCo gave us advice and support from the start. You can check out other Locals We Love in our Instagram series by the same name. https://lnkd.in/eqgvCxDK

We made special posters and a Ravensburger custom puzzle for the event with the new Adobe AI tool called Firefly. This tool is really powerful and we were so pleased with the results.

THANK YOU FOR A TREMENDOUS NIGHT! We had so much fun, we are already planning another open studio so stay tuned!
