When people ask me why I'm still at BCG after a decade, my answer is always "the people." (And when they say, "no really...", my answer is "no really, it's actually the people!"). Danny Werfel is one of the key people who has kept me at BCG and made it a place where I've felt supported, challenged, and had a ton of fun.
I first started working with Danny directly after I returned from maternity leave with my 3rd child (meaning I had an infant, 2 year-old and 4 year-old at home - it still makes me tired to think about it). He was impressive in his ability to balance giving me space to do what I needed to do to feel successful in my home life, while also not limiting my opportunities or counting me out of things. I was able to take on a role at the center of our largest client in a way that was flexible enough to still pump and do bedtime. I could not have done so without Danny's trust, flexibility and support throughout. He's always treated me as a true thought partner, and had my back every step of the way.
I couldn't be more proud of him for recently being named the new Global Leader for BCG's Public Sector practice area. In this role, I know he'll continue to make impact on many lives - both at our clients and our own teams. I'm also sad for me, as it means I'll have to share him!
