Personal Growth Equals Business Growth

Many of my clients believe that the key to success lies somewhere outside of themselves. (I know this is something I used to believe as well) Having the right framework, building a sales funnel, creating a solid marketing plan, finding that dream job, etc.

While these things may be important, I have found that the biggest gains that people make in business and in life come from doing the inner work. Healing past traumas, examining limiting beliefs, unlearning programming that no longer serves us. THESE are the things that lead to success in all areas of life!

If doing “The Work” leads to success, happiness and fulfillment, why don’t more people to it? Because it is HARD! I heard a quote years ago from Tony Robbins that stuck with me. He said as humans, we are only motivated by two things: 1) Avoiding pain and 2) Seeking pleasure. I think many of us don’t want to do the deeper inner work as it can be painful. Some feel it is better just to pack things down inside and not deal with them. What I have also found is that doing the work can absolutely be painful but all of the juiciness in life comes on the other side of dealing with the tough stuff.

Sometimes we need to get uncomfortable in order to get to the next level of success. Instead of numbing out with social media, TV, substances, etc, it pays to feel the feels and work through the harder stuff in order to get to brighter days and take your career and your life to the next level.

One Step Is A Big Step

I was speaking to Veronica Buck earlier this week and we were talking about how taking small, incremental steps towards your goals often yields the best results over time. What is the one thing that you can do today in order to get you closer to the things that you desire and the goals that you set for yourself? She came up with the phrase “One step is a big step” and I loved it!

Sometimes when we have a larger vision for our lives, the work that we do or the business that we want to create, it is easy to get overwhelmed by all of the things that we have yet to accomplish or the things that have not been completed. Again, a great way to overcome this is to remember that “One Step Is A Big Step”. Sending an email to someone that you want to connect with. Doing that post on social media. Getting up a bit earlier to exercise so that you are set up for the day. Speaking to one person that could be your next client or offer you your next opportunity.

If you have a vision for your life, career or business, you cannot make it all happen in one day. You can however take one step at a time. One step is a big step.

What is that one thing that you can do today that will move you closer to the things that you desire?
