Estou voltando para o brasil! (I’m coming back to Brazil!)
I’m excited to announce that after a rigorous process, I’ve been selected to represent Canada as an Entrepreneur Delegate at the G20 YEA Summit in Brazil.
It’s a huge honour for me to represent Canada, and it’s a mix of good emotions to return to the country where I was born, this time representing the country where I’ve decided to live.
The G20 YEA Summit, held annually ahead of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, serves as a platform for advising G20 governments on business and entrepreneurship policy matters. The Alliance is a collective of organizations across the G20 countries, representing over 500,000 entrepreneurs who meet yearly to affect positive policy change and champion youth entrepreneurship worldwide.
As part of both the Innovation, digitization and Future of Work and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Taskforce - I’ve been contributing to bringing consciousness to the opportunities and dangers that Artificial Intelligence poses ahead and how governments should prepare for it before it’s too late. Being the CEO of a company that applies A.I., I have more contact with this technology than most. Therefore, I see it as a social responsibility to leverage my expertise and knowledge to contribute to society in a civic way.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Futurpreneur and Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada for their contribution through the Global Affairs Canada’s CanExport Associations program and the Trade Commissioner Service | Service des délégués commerciaux for their support.

Optave is finally emerging from Stealth mode. Seeing my "start working" LinkedIn update might seem unusual to our customers and supporters, especially since I’ve been with Optave full-time since September 2022. However, the update was a strategy to leverage LinkedIn’s algorithm to boost awareness—job change posts tend to reach further than regular ones.
Why Stealth, and why leave it now? As many know, advancements in large language models, propelled by the Deep Learning Transformer architecture, like those from the GPT family by OpenAI, have enabled AI to achieve a profound understanding of context previously impossible. This bleeding-edge technology is evolving extremely fast. Soon, it will evolve into "true intelligence at your service through an API call." My experience as a chess player helps me make decisions in scenarios like these; it shows that you can't define a good future strategy too early when the positioning of the pieces on the board hasn't yet been consolidated.
We needed time to experiment and iterate, pushing the boundaries of current technology to develop a viable, desirable, feasible, and scalable model. The journey was challenging. As expected, considering the extremely low odds of companies surpassing this barrier. We faced challenges such as reducing the risk of model hallucinations while maintaining speed and cost-effectiveness without sacrificing quality and value for our customers.
For AI companies, timing is key. Given the infancy of today's technology, they risk being a spaceship embarking too early on a lifetime journey across the galaxy only to be drastically overtaken by a better ship later on. We can see this in practice by examining the early A.I. companies that burned millions of dollars in training models that can now be easily replaced in minutes with a better version created with a simple prompt and no extra cost. Once these companies have their cap table diluted and have a huge base of customers to maintain, they can't change some decisions without sacrificing growth and losing the capability of raising more capital. Soon, other ships may arrive.
As the leader of Optave, I need to balance these considerations with questions like when to fundraise, what to build first, and how long we can wait without losing momentum. But our main focus is our customers. We've worked tirelessly to ensure our solution delivers real value, enhancing support operations and overall effectiveness. Our progress means you can expect more efficient and reliable company support, faster response times, and a better overall experience. I'm proud to announce that we have achieved a business model that meets the aforementioned criteria.
Although the future is uncertain, one thing is clear: customer support, as you know it, will never be the same.
