Carlos Portugal, also known as Carlos Rodrich, is an experienced professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at Universidad de Piura (UDEP) and serves as the Deputy Director at Innóvate Perú, a prominent innovation and entrepreneurship agency in Peru.

Carlos boasts a rich background with 16 years of expertise in supply chain management. He has led innovation initiatives and managed various supply chains, including those in e-commerce, automotive, startups, beverages, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.

Having collaborated with MIT SCALE Latin America, Carlos spearheaded a project focused on studying small and medium enterprises (SMEs) leveraging logistics and supply chain management to enhance their productivity.

Carlos has been deeply involved in promoting women in STEM entrepreneurship through the Women in STEM Entrepreneurship (WISE) Program, a pioneering initiative in Latin America dedicated to fostering the inclusion and development of women in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Throughout his career, Carlos has pursued educational opportunities across the globe, having studied and worked in Europe, Oceania, North America, and Asia.

His educational journey includes completing a wide array of programs and degrees such as a Maestría en Supply Chain Management in Logistics from Universidad del Pacífico in Peru, an Executive program on Startup Accelerators in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem from Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, and an Erasmus Program in Business Administration Scholarships from the University of Oviedo, Spain, among others.

Carlos Portugal has also been actively engaged in various organizations and roles, including serving as the Coordinador Adjunto at Innóvate Perú, being part of the Advisory Board at Babson College, and holding positions like Director del Programa Babson Collaborative and Director Programa WISE Perú at Hub Udep.

His extensive professional background includes former roles at companies like Bayer, Nissan Maquinarias, Groupon Peru, and Leonisa S.A., where he contributed in areas such as warehouse and distribution, logistics management, and supply chain consultancy.

Carlos Portugal's diverse experiences in academia, entrepreneurship, innovation, and supply chain management make him a well-rounded professional with a broad skill set and a global perspective.
