I’ve been reflecting a lot on purpose.

For the record, I don’t think it’s something that can be nailed in one go…. To me, “finding your purpose” is an unfolding that happens over a lifetime…

That being said, this year I went through an experience that brought me back into deeper connection with what my purpose feels like.

I fell in love with a man, and although it was a beautiful connection…

We crossed a relational boundary because of trauma.

Without going into details, as hard as we tried, we couldn’t get to the place where we could stay connected amidst conflict, because it was too painful for the both of us.

Despite how self-aware we both are…

Despite how much work we’ve done…

Despite how much we cared for each other…

We couldn’t meet each other in the place where we both needed to go (and heal from).

The experience broke me open, but it also reminded me of why I do what I do:

I can’t stand seeing hearts separated because of trauma.

It kills me inside.

And, I see how DIFFICULT this is for people across the board… how much our subconscious patterning can get in the way of what we deeply desire… even if we’re self-aware and greatly resourced.

I want to create a world we don’t need to “heal” from.

Where layers of trauma to recover from isn’t the base standard.

Where conscious communication is the norm Being loving and kind to each other is the norm Doing work we love is the norm Never needing to worry about money is the norm

That is the kind of world I want to live in.

Another confession:

Sometimes when I set off to do this work, I can feel so small.

Because this work feels so big…

But I can’t help but do it. My soul propels me forward. It’s part of my dharma. My purpose, you could say.

Even though my business has “only” served a few thousand so far…

I like to believe that the impact I’ve had on my clients, my students, and any other life I’ve touched with my message, is a start to the impact I desire to have on the world during my lifetime.

That is also why I love working with high impact people - for example the Fortune 200 head of HR of a company that employs thousands of people, or the business owner with an audience of millions.

It gives me peace to know that if that leader can better understand their soul purpose, if they can become someone they admire, if they can learn to overcome their trauma and show up to the world more loving, self accepting, kind…. AND tooled up to create impact, money, and influence…

This person can go on to impact many others to do the same.

This is “why” I do it.

Even when it feels hard…

When I feel defeated…

When I’m in most need of courage…

I come back to this:

Heart to heart.

Seeing each other beyond the trauma and the pain.

And finding ways to come back to each other again.

It’s a work of a lifetime…
