Highlights
I'm honored to share that Vivvi has been selected as the University of Notre Dame's back up care provider for full time faculty, staff and graduate students, starting July 1. Notre Dame is one of the country's leading research and scholarship institutions; this investment in caregiving benefits shows that it's also leading the way in caring for its caregivers. We know that affordable, accessible child care is critical in academia, and we're proud to play a role in supporting Notre Dame's efforts to attract and retain educators and help their entire community thrive. When we founded Vivvi, we set out to be more than just a network of schools. We wanted to be a champion for affordable, accessible child care. That’s why our business model focuses on partnering with employers to provide child care as a benefit, so that working parents don’t have to choose between growing their careers and growing their families.
I think most of us believe that providing child care for working parents is the right thing to do, but what often gets lost in translation is the business imperative. So I could not be more excited to share Vivvi’s new research, “The R.O.I. of Caregiving Benefits,” in partnership with Lauren Smith Brody of The Fifth Trimester. The report measures the business payoff of supporting working parents with real, calculable numbers, and reveals the average ROI (18x!) for every dollar that employers invest in caregiving benefits.
We’re grateful to the companies who agreed to be a part of this research, like Etsy, Bobbie, PwC and more, who are addressing their caregivers’ needs with flexibility, innovation and conviction. And to the many companies that have already invested in their caregivers, and are reaping the benefits.
We know that there is no single solution to the child care crisis, and that the private sector is just a piece of the puzzle. But what our report makes clear is that when employers care for their caregivers, the impact is enormous—not just on individuals, but also on their business. Read more here.
