We've been writing about culture a lot this week at Jamieson Law UK and Ireland and it's also a week when both Sophie Wardell and Charlotte Warrington have posted about their time at TDX Group which I joined in 2008.
I think I was employee no 36 and I joined at a point in time when growth was at a pace we could just about keep up with. The work was innovative, dynamic and exciting. The people there were super smart (Andrew Knapper was known as 'the brain' 🧠!), full of energy (hello 👋 Garry Evans) and everyone seemed to have your back (Beth Whelan, Antony Dear, Corrine Osborne plus many more).
The entrepreneurial spirit of the business meant that they also supported me as I worked remotely and flexibly whilst setting up my first business in 2010/11, it was a business I was proud to be a part of for many years.
This week as I reflect on the impact of culture in a workplace, it's been a pleasure to take a walk down memory lane and consider how I've sought out opportunities that anchor back to some of those cultural values.
I couldn't find a photo dating back as far as 2008 on my phone so here's one of a goat I came across on a recent hike in the mountains of Mallorca. There's probably a great pun to be had here 😉
I've been through a rebrand a few times before and I love the heady mix of excitement (can't wait for everyone to see it) and nerves (god I hope we didn't forget something!) and so whilst the current to do list shouldn't be a surprise to me....it still is.
The big items get tons of energy and focus... ✅ brand strategy review ✅ TOV updates ✅ new logo ✅ new website ✅ new images ✅ intro video
but then comes the list of a million other updates which are just as important but come way later on the to do list...
✅ email signatures ✅ social banners and intros ✅ ALL assets created since the beginning of time (feels like it anyway!) ✅ email campaign templates ✅ notification to clients ✅ notification to suppliers ✅ video call backgrounds ✅ T&C's ✅ staff handbook ✅ policy updates and the list goes on....
We're only 9 days away from the new Jamieson Law UK and Ireland brand being out in the world. It's a grown-up version of the grown-up business that has evolved since Babs Neilan (nee Jamieson) and Lynne Riddell founded it in 2019. A dozen experts in their field have been involved in the process and I'll shout out to all of them on the 4th Sept but for now...please send me positive vibes for the list getting shorter over the next 9 days 🤞
