Highlights
This year has been exceptionally difficult, but I remain optimistic we can all use it as a catalyst and unifying force to come out the other side stronger, better, more collective, more educated, and with a better sense of purpose and perspective than we’ve ever had.
Humbled and grateful to be gainfully employed as many are out there struggling to find work and make ends meet during the holiday season. I’m proud of the work we’ve continued to do at Braze and our ability to deliver world class products and services to our clients at an impressive rate during these turbulent times. Most of all though, how we’ve been there for one another.
This is a reminder to myself more than anything, but remember to spread love this holiday season. The world needs it.
Just saw that Nike has committed $40mm to support our Black communities in America. This does not come as the least bit of a surprise as Nike has always led the pack with regard to civil and social change, rights, and equality. Remember when they were eviscerated for the #Kaepernick campaign? Now we see the NFL fumbling trying to course-correct after realizing just how wrong they were. Nonetheless, ecstatic to see this news.
I want to say "I hope" we see other brands follow suit, but we can't hope, we must demand action. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say: we are tired of the lip service. You blacked out your corporate social media profile picture, great. One or a few of your talented employees or agencies came up with some empathetic, provocative messaging, great. Awareness is a start, but we don't want more, we need and demand more. We want and need to see action taken by the top American corporations and the private sector as these brands/firms have unequivocal influence over just about every aspect of this country. Please join me in this call to action.
Also, can someone please explain how being an ethical, responsible, and bold organization isn't great for business and shareholders alike? Not to mention it's just fundamentally the right thing to do. #justdoit
