Events are hard, they consume a lot of resources, and can be unpredictable (pray for sun!). Also, we’re an app so no one expects us to throw a physical event. So why are we doing it?
- We’re about bringing brands and communities together around movement so let’s try it and see what we can learn.
- We want to be involved in our community and to be community builders ourselves.
- We get to use our own product in the wild.
Here’s what we’ve learned so far …
- Confirmed, events are hard, but they’re also fun and bring people together (our team, partners, people that want to support).
- We’ve been in Marin for two years and have felt pretty anonymous. Rise & Rally has made our business and mission feel real to people around us.
- The best part so far has been meeting and working with local partners. Creating something positive for the community is a great way to get to know other likeminded founders / owners.
- You can talk to users of your product all day long but the little bugs or points of friction hit different when you’re driving. Testing your product is completely different than using your product with a purpose.
