Daniel Alegria is the founder of Theorytree, a digital product design company. He is a seasoned UX/UI designer passionate about solving problems and creating meaningful digital experiences.4
Alegria was born in Santiago, Chile and emigrated to the United States in 1980. He founded D.A.R. Finish Corp., a finish carpentry company, in Miami, FL in 1988. The company later expanded to include D.A.R. Millwork, a door, frame, finish hardware and bath specialty products distribution business.1
Alegria's son Nicolas Alegria is the current President of D.A.R. Finish Specialties and D.A.R. Wholesale. Nicolas restructured the companies in 2011 to focus more on commercial projects while upholding the core values of quality, authenticity and reliability instilled by his father.1
Daniel Alegria has been featured in Adobe Live streams demonstrating UI/UX design using Adobe XD.23 He is passionate about teaching others his design process and techniques.

After nearly a year as the founding product designer at the exciting Data Observability startup Revefi, I've recently made the difficult decision to look for new opportunities outside of Data Observability and the B2B space.

I don't post often if at all but want to share a recent experience I had that made me reflect on how grateful I am to be at Revefi. I joined the stealth startup just a lil over a month ago, the opportunity itself coming out of the blue. What made the decision to join outside the problem space, impact opportunity, and the team already assembled was the founders themselves.
I recently had a medical procedure planned long before talks of joining took place. While the procedure was low-risk, there was a small chance in my case some complications could arise. Didn't think anything of it.
The recovery timeline outlined was at least 7 days, the first 3 being the most important. Thinking after 3 days, sure I would be mostly immobile but hey I have my hands, eyes, and laptop, I could work immediately! Long story short, that wasn't the case. Though I was both anxious and excited to complete work on my plate and hand off to my team, reality thanks to minor complications had other plans.
It indeed took 7 days plus some to get back into it. Here's the thing though, there was never any pressure to jump right back in, that was all me. In fact quite the opposite, both Sanjay Agrawal and Shashank Gupta made it clear that resting, recovering, and taking the time I needed was of paramount concern. That was also reflected by everyone else at Revefi saying the same. It's in the DNA of the company that people come first, that life happens, and that taking care of yourself matters and is supported.
While I'm happy my experience is becoming more the norm at the places we put our energy and time into, to have recently gone through it at a startup, feeling the level of support from leaders I admire, well makes me grateful and something I thought was worth sharing.
