Highlights
365 days ago today in the space of 10 minutes my world was tipped upside-down. I went from seeing this amazing future filled with possibilities, excitement, opportunities and happiness to literally sitting in the dark, on a borrowed couch, in an empty rented flat, unemployed, alone, completely and utterly broken wondering what the hell do I do now! I went so dark some of my friends actually sent someone out looking for me, not my finest hour. After having the hardest year in my entire life I have learnt a lot. -It’s okay to fail! Better to try and fail than to never try at all. Avoid those regrets or “what if” moments cropping up for the rest of your life. -Take that chance. -We all make mistakes, own them. It’s how you recover from those mistakes that people will remember. -Celebrate the wins, no matter how tiny they are! -Complement others, we’re so quick to tear people down. That little well done, nice work, cool shoes, or thank you. Will probably mean more than you realise. -Thank those people around you, that no matter how many times they have had to listen to you dribble on have stayed with you, supporting you. (There’s no harm in remembering the ones who always choose to run away the moment things get tricky or hard either.) -Do you! Who cares what anyone else thinks, you do you! A life worrying all the time what everyone thinks or says about you is no life at all, just awful and debilitating. -It's okay to say you're not okay. -And to reference a good mate, always find those silver linings to a situation. I’m learning they are always there you just need to look.
I gave something a go. I gave it my heart and soul, every piece of me I had to give, even despite everyone I know warning me off, but I thought I saw something special they didn’t. It failed. They were it seems correct (I still hope there’s enough courage and maturity out there to prove them all wrong oneday) however I tired!! I can hold my head high knowing that, I have no regrets, I did everything I could do and I know I did nothing wrong. I’m proud of myself for that, I won’t die wondering. One year on, I still have a huge hole that I know I will never fill or replace, however; I have a home I have son who inspires me every day with his kindness I have the most amazing people in my life I have a good job I have properties sorted I have great travel plans I have sorted all but one of my short term goals, and I’m on to the next ones But above all I’m happy with who I am! I can’t wait to see what the next 365 days brings! So the message here, it is okay to fail. Sure that business you start might not workout, that chance you take might not pay off, the relationship might not last but that’s okay, you tried. How bloody amazing would it be if it did go right!! You only have to try to find out. Stop worrying about what could go wrong and start focusing on would could go right! #neverquiting #nevergiveup #alwayshoping #mondayvibes
