Daniel Wiese is a seasoned professional currently leading the Research and Development (R&D) department at WHOOP, where he focuses on creating cutting-edge technologies to elevate human performance.

Prior to his role at WHOOP, Daniel was the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Humon, a company that was successfully acquired in 2020.

Daniel's educational background is vast and impressive, with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a minor in Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from MIT Sloan School of Management, and studies in Computer Science at Harvard University.

He also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

Throughout his career, Daniel has been associated with prestigious organizations such as BLUE ORIGIN, where he worked in Guidance Navigation and Control, and Aviation Adventures, where he served as a Flight Instructor.

In addition to his industry roles, Daniel has contributed to academia as a Teaching Assistant at MIT and as a Research Assistant at UC Davis and multiple research positions at both the Air Force Research Laboratory and MIT.
