David Elcott

David Elcott is a prominent figure in Jewish community building, with over twenty-five years of experience in interfaith and ethnic activism.

He currently serves as the Taub Professor of Practice in Public Service and Leadership at NYU's Wagner School of Public Service, where he focuses on teaching community organizing, advocacy, and launching programs like the one with the Innocence Project, as well as Baby Boomer initiatives.

With a background in political psychology and Judaic studies, Dr. Elcott has held key roles in organizations like the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, the American Jewish Committee, and the Israel Policy Forum.

He is known for his expertise in community organizing, NGO consulting, mediation, public service, and lecturing on contemporary issues, with a special interest in the Baby Boomer demographic.

David Elcott has authored various publications, including 'A Sacred Journey: The Jewish Quest for a Perfect World,' discussing topics such as power dynamics, war, civic engagement, and controversies like 'The Passion of the Christ' and Israel divestment campaigns.

He has represented the Jewish community internationally in interfaith settings across Europe, South America, and Asia.

Elcott holds a Ph.D. in Political Science with a focus on Middle East Studies from Columbia University in the City of New York.
