David Elcott

David Elcott is a prominent figure with over twenty-five years of experience in Jewish community building, pluralist engagement theory, and interfaith and ethnic activism. He serves as the Taub Professor of Practice in Public Service and Leadership at NYU's Wagner School of Public Service as well as a senior research fellow at the Research Center for Leadership in Action. His work includes teaching community organizing and advocacy, launching programs with the Innocence Project and focusing on Baby Boomers. Previously, he held roles in organizations like the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, the American Jewish Committee, and the Israel Policy Forum, addressing various public policy issues and building interfaith coalitions globally. Dr. Elcott is also an accomplished author with publications on topics such as power and war, minority civic engagement, and controversial subjects like The Passion of the Christ and Israel divestment campaigns. He is recognized for representing the Jewish community in interfaith dialogues worldwide.
